About this product
MC4 is the connector standard almost every solar panel in the world terminates in. A set gives you both halves, male and female, which is what a single joint takes — extending a string, joining panels, or terminating a run into a combiner box.
It is worth being fussy here. A poorly crimped or mismatched connector is the most common cause of a hot joint on a PV array — it does not fail suddenly, it degrades, heats up, and eventually starts a fire somewhere inconvenient. Use the right crimp tool, seat the connector until it clicks, and do not mix brands within a single joint.
